Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence startup xAI will open-source Grok, a chatbot rival to OpenAI’s ChatGPT, this week, on Monday Musk tweeted on X (Twitter).
He also replied that "OpenAI is a lie". It was founded to be a non-profit and open-source AI company, but now it's a closed-source and profitable company.
Musk unveiled Grok in early November last year and said Grok can access X in real-time and will be available for X's premium users
This is the second time Elon is making things open-source. In March 2023 Musk also open-sourced the majority of the Twitter codebase.
Musk had recently sued OpenAI and its Co-founders including CEO Sam Altman, alleging they broke the AI company’s founding agreement to develop artificial intelligence for the benefit of humanity instead of profit.
